RTCMv3 and GROUPDEF on the DL-4

Support has been added for a new interface mode, which will not fit in the allotted 3-bit fields of the GroupStatus field of the GROUPDEF log.

Here is a list of the changes involved:

1.) Field 20 of the GROUPDEF log (currently Reserved) will be changed to a HEXULONG and renamed "Interface Modes". Following is a reference table of the new Interface Mode values:

Interface Mode Mask, Description

0x0000 00FF, COM 1 TX - the 8-bit binary value corresponds to the values in “Serial Port Interface Modes”
0x0000 FF00, COM 1 RX - the 8-bit binary value corresponds to the values in “Serial Port Interface Modes”
0x00FF 0000, COM 2 TX - the 8-bit binary value corresponds to the values in “Serial Port Interface Modes”
0xFF00 0000, COM R RX - the 8-bit binary value corresponds to the values in “Serial Port Interface Modes”

2.) The final 4 fields of the Group Status table (0x70 0000, 0x03800000, 0x1c000000, 0xE0000000) are now replaced with a single field (0xFF00 0000) and named "Reserved".

3.) RTCMv3, with binary value 14 and description “The port accepts/generates RTCM Version 3.0 corrections” has been added to Table 82: Serial Port Interface Modes.

RTCMv3 is a relatively new feature on the DL-4. If you are not using RTCMv3 with the DL-4, then you can safely disregard this notice.

These changes will be implemented in PDC firmware release 1.314. The DL-4 documentation will be updated sometime mid-2006.
