Demo Software

Please contact sales@novatel.com to obtain a trial version for evaluation if you are considering a purchase of Waypoint™ products. Please note that the software requires a hardware dongle attached to the parallel or USB port of the host computer. It is necessary for this reason that trial copies of the software be shipped.

Waypoint Toolbox

The Waypoint toolbox can be downloaded freely and does not require a hardlock key to be used.  It contains mission planning capabilities and limited data viewing and plotting capabilities for NovAtel receivers.  It is available for download here http://www.novatel.com/products/waypoint-software/waypoint-toolbox-1-00-beta-release/.

Latest Manufacturer files download

Waypoints manufacturer files should be kept up to date and are provided here as a convenience for user's who do not have internet access on the computer running Inertial Explorer, GrafNav, GrafMov, or GrafNav Lite. These files contain information which is critical to Precise Point Positioning (PPP) accuracy, as well as a list of current sites used in the download utility, favourites menu, and any new datum and grid transformations among other information.

These files are normally automatically updated every two weeks; however this requires an internet connection and no firewall restrictions when connecting to our server. These files can be manually updated by unzipping the contents of this zip file to the appropriate directory, depending on which version of software is being used. If using version 8.10 of our post-processing packages please unzip these files to the installation directory. If using version 8.20 (or later), please unzip to “C:\Documents and Settings\[USER]\Application Data\NovAtel\Inertial_Explorer_8_20\Manufact” for Inertial Explorer, or “C:\Documents and Settings\[USER]\Application Data\NovAtel\GrafNav_GrafNet_8_20\Manufact” for GrafNav.

Google Earth Profile for download sites

All of the services in GrafNav/GrafNet's™ download utility are now available in Google Earth profiles (click on link to get zip file containing nine Google earth profiles - one for each service in GrafNav/Net's download utility). These services include the North American CORS network, the global IGS network, and other Canadian, European, Japanese, and tAustralian networks. These files help select the most appropriate stations to download for processing airborne surveys that span long distances. In order to visualize the stations that are closest to the flight path, a user can export a single point solution from the GPB viewer, or process an approximate solution from one base station within GrafNav, and then export it using the Export Wizard profile "Google Earth (Epochs)". This creates a .kml file format that can be loaded into the project along with, for example, the CORS .kml file. Once these files are loaded, a user sees their airborne trajectory along with the positions of each CORS site.

Patches

2011 RINEX Conversion Patches

This patch is needed to convert RINEX data collected in 2011 to GPB format.  Patches are available for the following versions:

Week 500 Patch (ZIP file)
This patch includes fixes to the raw GNSS converter, GPB to RINEX converter, Upgrade Utility, and IMU data converter. This patch is required for all GrafNav and Inertial Explorer 8.10 user’s operating the software with a DEMO key as of March 22, 2009.

Waypoint Geoids

Geoids, provided here for your convenience, must be in WPG format to be used with Waypoint software.  The Waypoint Products Group, NovAtel Inc, and any of its distributors will not accept any liability for any errors in the geoids' accuracy or implementation.  If the user is unsure of the results being produced, results should be checked against government programs that perform similar tasks.  Most can be checked via the Internet.  For more information on the use of Geoids within the Waypoint software please see our Geoids FAQ.

Mexico
Mexico97 is available but please see http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/GEOID/MEXICO97/ for more information as this geoid is not suitable for direct conversion between NAD83 GPS ellipsoid heights and NAVD88 orthometric heights.  It is therefore suggested that this geoid be used in a relative sense as much as possible (i.e. by using orthometric heights at your base station).

Caribbean
CARIB97 is available but please see http://www.ngs.noaa.gov/GEOID/CARIB97/ for more information as this geoid is not suitable for direct conversion between NAD83 GPS ellipsoid heights and NAVD88 orthometric heights.  It is therefore suggested that this geoid be used in a relative sense as much as possible (i.e. by using orthometric heights at your base station).

Great Britain and Ireland
OSGM02 is available for Great Britain and Ireland, please see
http://www.ordnancesurvey.co.uk/oswebsite/gps/osnetfreeservices/about/surveying_osnet.html#7 for more information.

France
RAF98 was generated by Ecole Supérieure des Géomètres Topographes.

Japan
JGeoid96 was produced using the DAT files provided by GSI. Because WGS84 has shifted over time, this geoid is best used in a relative fashion.

The Waypoint Product Group provides a collection of geoid utilities which are used to create WPG files from known ASCII or binary file formats.  Please see section 8 of our Geoids FAQ for more information.

Finland
The FIN2000 geoid model can be used to transform ETRS89 ellipsoidal heights to the Finnish N60 height system.  Although the model goes over Finish borders, users are advised not to use the model outside Finland because of rapidly increasing errors.  For more information please see http://coordtrans.fgi.fi/.
