NovAtel OnBoard

Aviation

In addition to its OEM product line, NovAtel develops and supplies GPS navigational receivers to national satellite-based augmentation systems (SBAS) including the U.S. WAAS, the European EGNOS, Japanese MSAS, Chinese SNAS, and more recently, the Gagan system in India. These complex receivers incorporate NovAtel’s Narrow Correlator® tracking technology, MEDLL® multipath mitigation, and Signal Quality Monitoring. As well, they receive and process WAAS L1/L5 GEO and GPS L1/L2/L5 signals. NovAtel launched its latest generation WAAS receiver -- the WAAS Reference Receiver G-II which offers exceptional tracking performance, advanced integrity monitoring, and improved multipath rejection. The Company also introduced a new GUS receiver and signal generator for use in SBAS programs. In addition, NovAtel is involved in several contracts for development work on the European Space Agency’s Galileo system, including design of an L1/E5a receiver prototype. Galileo is Europe's state-of-the-art satellite navigation system which is expected to be operational by 2010/12 with up to 30 satellites orbiting the earth.
